Physicals . . . a Health Menace

medical historyTrying to do the adult and responsibly healthy thing, I went to my annual physical yesterday.  That may be the last time I put “annual” and “physical” together.  Last year at my physical the doctor discovered a fibroid.  Her discovery led to ultrasounds, MRIs and ultimately surgery.  Yesterday as she was poking around my lymph nodes she started making faces when she got to my thyroid.  So, today it was back to the radiology place for an ultrasound of my thyroid . . . which was probably the best and least intrusive one I’ve ever had.  It will be at least two more days before I find out what’s going on . . . but by then I’ll be at Disney World, the happiest place on earth—so the news won’t even be able to be bad.  Mickey Mouse wouldn’t allow that.

The doctor’s office called on Monday and the news from the ultrasound was definitely non-news.  They say I have enlarged nodules in my thyroid.  Hmmmmmmmm.  I think that’s why I went there in the first place.  So, now I have an appointment with an endocrinologist for the week after I get back.  That’s the medical update.  Other than that, I’m enjoying just hanging out in FL.  The first Thanksgiving feast on Monday was amazing.  My tastebuds were VERY happy.  Tomorrow’s feast should be fun, too.  Happy Thanksgiving to you!

  1. Thank you for providing a visual of PHR and an article as well. Helped me to know little more of an effective way to keep a track…
