Well, I made it around the city by myself, transfers and all. I think now I’ve experienced every type of public transportation in Vienna. It’s quite do-able if you ever get here. I really like the old trams—much more charming than the new ones. However, the new ones rate higher on a comfort scale.
I pretty much messed up my back yesterday from sleeping on the pullout sofa. Grrrrr.  It’s a bit better today after multiple hot water bottles, Aleve, a different bed and a hot shower. I’m concerned about 13 or so hours in a plane . . . and getting my luggage to the plane on public transport, but there’s not a whole lot I can do about it. I want to be in good shape for the conference next week, but so far I’m not off to a great start. If you think of it, please pray for a strong and pain free back and wisdom in keeping it that way! Thanks.
I leave for Jo’burg within the hour. I won’t have internet access for at least a week, so don’t send out the troops looking for me on public transport in South Africa! It’s not a matter of being lost, it’s a matter of being incommunicado. Have a great week!
Oh—and I know the picture isn’t Vienna; it’s Prague. It’s the closest I could get.
