Good video. Doesn’t really address the TCKs who didn’t necessarily travel a lot, but there’s definitely a neat connection that happens when you meet/discover other TCKs. I’m glad I married one, and it’s still kinda weird to me that I’ve lived so many years now in the same city! I definitely do get the traveling itch every couple of years! 🙂
You’re so right, Aimee—it’s not EVERY TCK’s story. I think there are parts that resonate with a lot of different people’s stories. I do love that “click” that happens in your soul when you realize you’re with another TCK and you have so much in common even though to an outsider it appears you have nothing in common. The traveling itch? I get the moving itch! I can’t believe I’ve lived in the same place for 6 1/2 years. I can’t remember the last time that’s happened!
Really moving story, Sheryl. Very insightful and helpful for us non-TCKs, too.
Yeah, the moving itch is coming on these days, too, we’ve moved so often in the last 10 years! We’re at 3 1/2 years in one house right now- the longest stretch yet- so I’m trying to adjust my thinking to more long-term since he’s talking about a lifetime here! Yikes! Hardly imaginable! 🙂
